We found this charming brass footed bowl at a swap meet. The vendor told me it was bronze and from India. I agree with the India, but not with the bronze, but it was just too great to pass up. When working with the bowl I could see the underlying metal was brass. I tried the magnetic test and it is not magnetic (a good sign for both brass and certainly for bronze).
But brass lamp or bronze lamp, it is truly a masterful design. The look is enhanced by the bronze-like finish and patina.
Alas, the poor bowl had a bent bottom, but that no longer matters when one's hanging by one's foot.
This is a perfect example of what we at ClassicRedo love to do. We love to take an item that might otherwise have been discarded, and re-purpose it into wonderful one of a kind piece.
